Oxbow Family U-Picnic at the Kids' Farm

Come enjoy the Kids' Farm with your family this summer season and harvest the bounty!

Bring your family to Oxbow for our first annual U-picnic on Saturday, August 5^th, 2017! Bring your own picnic lunch, learn from our farmer educators, harvest the bounty, and stay and play! Oxbow is typically only open to the public during our Oxtober Pumpkin Festival in the fall, so this is an extra special opportunity to connect with and enjoy YOUR beautiful farm this summer.

What:  Bring a picnic lunch to enjoy on the farm, bring your own reusable shopping bags and containers to harvest Kids' Farm produce to supplement your picnic and bring food home, and learn about the produce growing on the Kids’ Farm from our farmer educators. Embark on a scavenger hunt adventure while you discover clues around the farm and meet Oxbow's composting worms!

Food:  Harvesting is optional, but encouraged! You may purchase any produce that you harvest for $2 per pound (free for CSA members). We’ll be using the honor system for payment, CASH OR CHECK ONLY! Crops will vary depending on weather conditions and availability, but you can expect favorites like: onions, potatoes, squash, tomatoes, broccoli, and more. Our skilled Farmer educators will be available to assist you in harvesting.

When: Saturday, August 5^th, 2017. The event starts at 10:00am and goes through 2pm. It's a come-and-go event!

Who: The Oxbow community, including our CSA members, Summer Camp families, and other program participants. Space is limited to approximately 150 participants. Dogs are not allowed on the farm, so please leave your furry friends at home!

Cost: We request a $5 per person entry fee to support Oxbow’s programming and mission. Entry is FREE for 2017 CSA members. (Not a member? It's not too late to join at a pro-rated amount!)
